Each of these is made from a different fruit fermented and aged in an 80/20 blend of 1-year old meerts and 2-year old lambics, so in addition to their specific fruit notes they all have a distinct funk and tartness to them. If you don’t like sours you’re not going to like these, but if you do enjoy a tart beer, these are some of the most complex and delicious things we have in the shop. Of all the flavors my personal favorites were those made with white wine grape varietals because the resulting liquid is such an interesting take on what a grape can do. Dry, crisp, and refreshing, they’re almost reminiscent of champagne if it had the yeast kicked up a notch. The most fruit-forward of the batch was the cassis, which was full and juicy without being overly sweet. Lastly, you can put the cork right back in once you’ve opened them, so unlike most beers you don’t have to drink it all in one go once you popped the top. I wouldn’t recommend letting it sit in your fridge for months after that, but it is nice to know you can savor these over days if you’d like 🍻
